Buyers tend to be established collectors rather than first-time Daytona owners, usually with a steel example already and a preference for the rubber strap over the bracelet. It wears lighter than any gold Daytona on a bracelet, which makes it more practical than its appearance suggests. The Sundust counters are the detail that rewards a second look, because at a distance they read as plain champagne and only resolve into their warmer tone up close. What it does not do is disappear, and a collector looking for a discreet gold chronograph is looking at the wrong reference. For collectors who want the Everose gold and ceramic combination without the stones, the plain black dial version of the same reference exists and is easier to find, and choosing between them is a decision about how much of the watch should be about the dial rather than the case. Most collectors who handle both end up choosing on weight of impression rather than on the stones themselves. The diamond version asks to be looked at and the plain one does not, and there is no wrong answer to that question.
