F.P. Journe sells the Boutique editions only through its own boutiques and Espaces rather than through the retail network, which is why they carry dials the standard references are not offered in. The blue guilloché silver dial is the mark of that distribution: the standard Quantième Perpétuel is offered in whitened silver, not in blue.

The case is rose gold, measuring 40 mm across and standing 10.85 mm deep, on a rose gold bracelet. F.P. Journe states the case size for this reference as 40 or 42 mm.

F.P. Journe launched the Quantième Perpétuel in 2013, replacing the Octa Calendrier whose production ended that year. A perpetual calendar accounts for months of 28, 29, 30 and 31 days and for the leap-year cycle, so the date, day, month and year advance without correction. The leap-year position is read at the centre of the dial beneath the hands, years one, two and three in black and the leap year marked L in red.

F.P. Journe presented the Octa in 2001 as a single automatic platform carrying a moon phase, an annual calendar, a chronograph or a second time zone, with every reference sharing one case size whatever complication it carries. It was the first automatic movement with a reserve long enough to keep precision timekeeping for over five days, the effective reserve running to about 160 hours against 120 chronometric ones. Until 2004 its mainplate was rhodium-coated brass; from 2004 it was 18K rose gold.

At 10.85 mm the Quantième Perpétuel is the deepest of the Octa references, against 10.7 mm for the Automatique Lune and the Divine.
