The Divine sits on the Octa platform and carries central hours and minutes with a moon phase at 7 o'clock, small seconds at 5, a power reserve indication and a large date.

The case is platinum, measuring 40 mm and standing 10.7 mm deep, on a leather strap. F.P. Journe states the case size for this reference as 40 or 42 mm. The dial is white gold and whitened silver and the hands are blued steel.

Central hours and minutes are the layout point: the rest of the Octa references place the time off centre, and the Divine does not.

F.P. Journe presented the Octa in 2001 as a single automatic platform intended to carry a moon phase, an annual calendar, a chronograph or a second time zone without being redesigned for each, and every Octa reference shares one case size whatever complication it carries. It was the first automatic movement with a reserve long enough to keep precision timekeeping for over five days, the effective reserve running to about 160 hours against 120 chronometric ones. Until 2004 its mainplate was rhodium-coated brass; from that year it was made in 18K rose gold, so an Octa's movement metal follows its production year rather than its reference code.

The Octa Divine is the 36 mm case of the same watch. F.P. Journe presented it in 2003 and it was the first model he set with diamonds and the first to carry central hours and minutes hands, offered with three different diamond settings, its sub-dials screwed to the dial rather than printed on it — a patented feature of the house.
