F.P.Journe is currently one of the world’s hottest independent watchmakers, and with a total output of less than 1,000 timepieces per year, all of the Swiss brand’s models are rather exclusive creations. However, some F.P.Journe watches are significantly more difficult to obtain than others, and the F.P.Journe Black Label collection offers an additional layer of exclusivity that makes it virtually unobtainable to anyone who isn’t one the brand’s most loyal customers.
In this guide, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about the F.P.Journe Black Label collection, including an overview of every Black Label model (both current and discontinued), pricing information, and how you can add a Black Label watch to your collection.
What Is the F.P.Journe Black Label Collection?
The F.P.Journe Black Label collection is an ultra-exclusive lineup of luxury timepieces that are only sold at the brand’s boutiques, and strictly reserved for existing F.P.Journe owners. Each boutique receives a maximum of 12 Black Label watches per year, and each model is annually limited to no more than two examples per boutique, which makes Black Label watches some of the rarest and most exclusive offerings in F.P.Journe’s entire catalog.
In order to be eligible to purchase one of F.P.Journe’s Black Label watches, buyers must already own one of the brand’s other models; however, being an existing owner hardly guarantees an allocation. Due to the extremely limited number of Black Label watches that are produced on an annual basis, F.P.Journe reserves these fiercely coveted models for its most loyal customers, and Black Label watches are only offered to dedicated collectors who have previously purchased multiple different F.P.Journe watches at a retail level.
Beyond its limited production numbers and notoriously restricted availability, the defining feature of the F.P.Journe Black Label collection is the elevated pairing of 950 platinum cases with black lacquer dials and movements rendered in solid 18k rose gold. With that in mind, there are a couple of notable exceptions to this rule, such as discontinued Black Label dials that are equally composed of both black and white surfaces, along with a current-production minute repeater model that uses stainless steel for its case due to the superior acoustic properties of the alloy.
Current-Production F.P.Journe Black Label Watches
Over the years, certain F.P.Journe Black Label watches have been discontinued or replaced by updated generations. However, as of March 2026, there are a total of 10 different Black Label watches in F.P.Journe’s current lineup, and they offer complications ranging from simple power reserve indicators to high-horology offerings like a minute repeater and vertical tourbillon.

How Much Is a F.P.Journe Black Label Watch?
Retail prices for F.P.Journe Black Label watches are not made public, but these ultra-exclusive models are categorically more expensive than their standard-production counterparts due to their platinum cases and small-batch production numbers. Additionally, due to the fact that the Black Label collection is only offered to existing F.P. Journe owners with substantial purchase histories, you will realistically need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on other F.P.Journe watches before you will be eligible to purchase one of the brand’s Black Label models.
On the secondary market, all F.P.Journe Black Label watches are accompanied by six-figure prices, and the cost of models typically increases with the complexity of their movements. As of March 2026, open-market prices for the F.P.Journe Black Label collection start at roughly $180,000 for the Chronomètre Souverain, but many of the more complex Black Label models routinely sell for well over half a million dollars. Lastly, since each F.P.Journe boutique is only able to sell a maximum of 12 Black Label watches per year and specifically rewards its most dedicated clients with access to these exclusive models, the majority of examples stay with their original owners, and few examples ever make it to the secondary market.
How to Buy F.P.Journe Black Label Watches
F.P.Journe Black Label watches are exclusively sold at the brand’s boutiques, and since each boutique only receives a maximum of 12 Black Label watches per year, allocation of these highly coveted models is strictly limited to existing F.P.Journe owners. This means a Black Label watch will never be a person’s first F.P.Journe, and most collectors will need to purchase multiple different watches from the brand before their boutique manager will even consider offering them a piece from the Black Label collection.
Unless you plan on building an extensive purchase history with your local F.P.Journe boutique (and are also willing to be extremely patient), the only way to get your hands on one of the brand’s elusive Black Label watches is to source one on the secondary market, where available examples trade hands for values that can reach multiple times their already substantial retail prices. With that in mind, many collectors are more than happy to pay these premiums, simply because each boutique only receives a maximum of two examples of each Black Label model per year, and even the brand’s top VIP clients have to wait for an allocation.
