Why Sell Your Rolex Submariner Watch With Wrist Aficionado
Wrist Aficionado is a global leader in the procurement and sales of exceptional and rare timepieces.
The Submariner has the broadest collector audience of any sport watch on the market, and our team has spent years building relationships with serious buyers across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. That global reach matters when you sell, because every variant, from no-date steel to gem-set precious metal, has its own audience.
When you work with Wrist Aficionado, your Submariner is reviewed by watchmakers who understand the small details that move a piece from common to desirable: bezel insert variations, dial transitions, case sharpness, bracelet stretch, and service history. We treat every submission as a serious transaction.

A Brief History of the Rolex Submariner
Rolex launched the Submariner in 1953 as one of the first wristwatches built specifically for diving, water resistant to 100 meters at introduction. The original reference 6204 set the design language that would carry through every Submariner since: rotating timing bezel, luminous markers, and a self-winding movement inside a sealed Oyster case. Through the 1960s and 1970s, references like the 5513, 5512, and 1680 added crown guards, chronometer certification, and the first date complication. The five-digit era brought sapphire crystals and improved water resistance to 300 meters. In 2010, Rolex introduced the Cerachrom ceramic bezel with the 116610LN, and in 2020 the current generation moved to a 41mm case with the redesigned 126610LN as the new core reference.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the process take?
Most direct sales finish within three to five business days from accepted offer to funds received. Consignment timelines vary based on the model and the buyer pool.
How does the offer process work?
Submit your reference number, condition notes, and photos through our site or by email. Our buying team reviews the submission and replies with a written offer, often the same day.
Which Submariner models do you accept?
Every generation. We buy vintage four-digit references, five-digit aluminum-bezel models, six-digit ceramic 40mm Submariners, and the current 41mm production. Steel, two-tone, and full precious metal cases are all welcome.
What should I prepare before sending my watch?
Locate your original box, papers, and any service records. Take clear photos of the dial, caseback, bracelet, clasp, and bezel. Note any known service work or replacement parts. The more our team knows up front, the smoother the review.
