That global reach matters when you sell, because every variant, from steel Pepsi to gem-set rose gold, has its own audience.
When you work with Wrist Aficionado, your GMT-Master II is reviewed by watchmakers who understand the small details that move a piece from common to desirable: bezel color, bracelet type, dial transitions, case sharpness, and service history. We treat every submission as a serious transaction.

A Brief History of the Rolex GMT-Master II
Rolex introduced the GMT-Master in 1955 in collaboration with Pan American Airways, designed to give pilots a way to track two time zones at once across long-haul flights. The original reference 6542 used a bakelite bezel that was later replaced with metal after concerns about cracking. The 1675 arrived in 1959 with crown guards and remained in production for nearly two decades. In 1983, Rolex launched the GMT-Master II with the reference 16760, nicknamed "Fat Lady" for its thicker case, which let the hour hand be set independently of the GMT hand. The five-digit 16710 followed and stayed in production until 2007, when the 116710LN introduced the Cerachrom ceramic bezel. The current generation began in 2018 with the steel 126710BLRO Pepsi and expanded with the left-hand crown 126720VTNR Destro in 2022.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the process take?
Most direct sales finish within three to five business days from accepted offer to funds received. Consignment timelines vary based on the model and the buyer pool.
How does the offer process work?
Submit your reference number, condition notes, and photos through our site or by email. Our buying team reviews the submission and replies with a written offer, often the same day.
Which GMT-Master II models do you accept?
Every generation. We buy vintage GMT-Master references, five-digit aluminum-bezel GMT-Master II models, six-digit ceramic versions, and the current production lineup. Steel, two-tone, and full precious metal cases are all welcome.
What should I prepare before sending my watch?
Locate your original box, papers, and any service records. Take clear photos of the dial, caseback, bracelet, clasp, and bezel. Note any known service work or replacement parts. The more our team knows up front, the smoother the review.
