Why Sellers Choose Wrist Aficionado for Their Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi
Selling a Pepsi GMT is rarely a routine transaction. The reference catalog spans vintage Aluminum-bezel pieces through the current Cerachrom-bezel 126710BLRO and white gold 126719BLRO, individual references trade across a wide range, and condition factors specific to the GMT-Master II all carry weight. Sellers tend to come our way for a few specific reasons:
- Buyer Reach Where the Pepsi Actually Trades: Active clients across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the regions where Pepsi GMT demand runs hottest, give your watch immediate, qualified visibility.
- Reference-Level Knowledge Across the Pepsi Catalog: Our team works with the full Pepsi lineup, from the vintage 1675 GMT-Master and the 16710 GMT-Master II in transitional aluminum-bezel configurations through the modern 116719BLRO white gold Pepsi introduced in 2014, the steel 126710BLRO introduced in 2018, and the 126719BLRO white gold with meteorite dial.
- Bezel-Aware Authentication: The Cerachrom red-and-blue bezel introduced on the 116719BLRO and 126710BLRO is a technical achievement that took Rolex years to develop, and our specialists understand what an authentic factory Cerachrom Pepsi insert should look like. Vintage Aluminum-bezel Pepsi inserts on the 1675 and 16710 carry their own authentication considerations.
- Bracelet-Aware Inspection: The 126710BLRO introduced the Jubilee bracelet as a factory GMT-Master II option for the first time in modern production. Whether your Pepsi is on the Oyster or Jubilee, condition, link tightness, and clasp function all factor into valuation.
- Fully Insured Logistics: Every transaction is protected by fully insured shipping, secure handling, and complete documentation. Non-negotiable for pieces of this caliber.
- Honest, Direct Communication: No surprise deductions, no fine print buried in the offer, no pressure tactics. Just clear, straightforward conversation throughout.
- Multiple Paths to Sell: Choose between an outright purchase or consignment through our global network, whichever better fits the result you want.
- Hands-On Inspection by Rolex Specialists: Each Pepsi is personally evaluated by our team, with attention to case integrity, bezel insert condition, dial originality, bracelet condition, movement signatures, warranty card and matching paperwork, and any service documentation.

About the Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi
The Pepsi is the original colorway of the GMT-Master and one of the most important dial-and-bezel combinations in modern watchmaking. When Rolex introduced the GMT-Master in 1955 with reference 6542, the red-and-blue bezel was developed specifically for Pan American World Airways pilots flying the brand-new transatlantic jet routes. The two colors split the 24-hour bezel into daylight and nighttime halves, with red marking the day side and blue marking night. This allowed a pilot tracking a second time zone to read the watch at a glance and quickly determine whether the destination time fell in waking hours or sleeping hours.
The Pepsi configuration continued through the 1675 generation from 1959 to 1980, the 16750 from 1981 to 1988, and the 16710 GMT-Master II from 1989 to 2007. The 16710 used an aluminum bezel insert and remained available in Pepsi alongside the black "Coke" and Coca-Cola red-and-black configurations throughout its production run.
When the 16710 was discontinued in 2007, the steel Pepsi disappeared from Rolex production entirely, beginning what would become an unusually long drought for collectors. The brand spent years developing a way to produce a two-color Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert. The technical challenge was significant: Rolex's Cerachrom bezels are colored at the ceramic-firing stage, and pairing red and blue in a single insert required new manufacturing techniques. The first solution arrived in 2014 with the 116719BLRO in white gold, the first Pepsi GMT-Master II with a Cerachrom bezel.
The steel Pepsi returned in 2018 with the 126710BLRO, one of the most anticipated Rolex releases in modern memory. The reference introduced the Jubilee bracelet as a factory GMT-Master II option for the first time since the vintage era and brought the new caliber 3285 movement. Allocation pressure at launch was substantial and remained intense for years afterward, with the steel Pepsi trading on the secondary market well above retail through most of its production life so far. The 126719BLRO in white gold with meteorite dial followed in 2023, expanding the precious metal Pepsi lineup further.
What makes the Pepsi distinctive on the secondary market is the combination of its cultural lineage, the technical achievement of the Cerachrom red-and-blue bezel, and the allocation dynamics that have shaped the modern steel and white gold references. Individual references trade very differently from one another, and the reference and condition you own determine almost everything about how the watch sells.
Frequently Asked Questions
The steel 126710BLRO Pepsi has been one of the hardest Rolex sport references to allocate since its 2018 launch. How does that affect the secondary market?
The 126710BLRO has been one of the most demand-constrained Rolex sport references for most of its production life. Allocation through authorized dealers requires substantial purchase history, and the secondary market has consistently absorbed pieces above retail. For sellers, this means the steel Pepsi sees strong, fast buyer demand at our boutiques. Current secondary-market conditions for the 126710BLRO depend on dial variant, bracelet (Oyster or Jubilee), age, condition, and completeness of the original set. Our valuations reflect live transaction data on the specific configuration you own.
