Why Sellers Choose Wrist Aficionado for Their RM 35
Selling an RM 35 isn't a routine transaction. The series spans three reference generations with distinct movements and design language, individual variants and athlete editions trade across a wide range, and condition factors specific to a Nadal sport-automatic watch built for active wear all carry weight. Sellers tend to come our way for a few specific reasons:
- Buyer Reach Where the RM 35 Actually Trades: Active clients across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the regions where this reference is most pursued, give your watch immediate, qualified visibility.
- Variant-Level Knowledge: Our team works with the full RM 35 lineup, from the RM 35-01 Black Carbon TPT introduced in 2014 through the RM 35-02 generation in Red Quartz TPT, Diamond Set Rafa, and Carbon TPT, and the current RM 35-03 in Black Carbon, Blue Quartz TPT, and White Quartz TPT colorways.
- Caliber-Aware Authentication: The RM 35-02 uses the caliber CRMA8 automatic and the RM 35-03 introduced the butterfly rotor mechanism that adjusts rotor geometry. Our specialists understand the differences between the RM 35-01, RM 35-02, and RM 35-03 calibers and what each should look and behave like on an authentic, properly maintained piece.
- Material and Strap Inspection: Carbon TPT and Quartz TPT cases each have their own authentic visual signature and wear pattern. Strap and pusher integrity factor in alongside case and caliber condition. We know what's correct and what crosses into compromised condition.
- Fully Insured Logistics: Every transaction is protected by fully insured shipping, secure handling, and complete documentation. Non-negotiable for pieces of this caliber.
- Honest, Direct Communication: No surprise deductions, no fine print buried in the offer, no pressure tactics. Just clear, straightforward conversation throughout.
- Multiple Paths to Sell: Choose between an outright purchase or consignment through our global network, whichever better fits the result you want.
- Hands-On Inspection by RM Specialists: Each RM 35 is personally evaluated by our team, with attention to case condition, caliber operation, strap and clasp integrity, athlete edition markings, edition numbering on limited variants, and matching documentation.

About the Richard Mille RM 35
The RM 35 series is the automatic sport line of Richard Mille's long-running Rafael Nadal collaboration. Where the RM 27 series carries the manual tourbillon configuration that Nadal wears during competitive matches, the RM 35 was developed as the more accessible automatic-winding counterpart, with the same lightweight construction philosophy and Nadal-tied design language but built around an in-house automatic caliber rather than a tourbillon. The result was a Nadal-collaboration RM that could be worn actively without the complexity of a tourbillon service profile, and the series has run across three reference generations since launch.
The RM 35-01 introduced the series in Black Carbon TPT around 2014, establishing the tonneau case profile and the Nadal-collaboration design treatment that has carried forward across the line. The RM 35-02 followed with the caliber CRMA8 automatic movement, available in Red Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT, and a Rafa Red Quartz TPT Diamond Set variant. The RM 35-02 brought a refined automatic architecture and slightly different case proportions to the series.
The RM 35-03 generation introduced the butterfly rotor mechanism, an automatic-winding system that allows the wearer to adjust the rotor geometry between low-activity and high-activity modes. This was a meaningful engineering step for an active-wear sport automatic, allowing the rotor to wind efficiently across the very different conditions of casual wear and athletic activity. The RM 35-03 is available in Black Carbon, Blue Quartz TPT, and White Quartz TPT configurations.
What makes the RM 35 distinctive on the secondary market is the combination of its Nadal-collaboration cultural weight, the breadth of materials and colorways across the three generations, and the relative accessibility compared to the RM 27 tourbillon line. Individual variants trade very differently from one another, and the variant and condition you own determine almost everything about how the watch sells.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the key differences between the RM 35-01, RM 35-02, and RM 35-03, and does that affect valuation?
The three generations represent distinct technical and design steps in the series. The RM 35-01 launched the line in Black Carbon TPT with an automatic caliber and the first Nadal sport-automatic case profile. The RM 35-02 brought the caliber CRMA8 with a refined automatic architecture and expanded the case to a slightly larger profile, with material options including Red Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT, and a Diamond Set Rafa variant. The RM 35-03 introduced the butterfly rotor mechanism for variable rotor geometry, available in Black Carbon, Blue Quartz TPT, and White Quartz TPT. Each generation has its own collector base and trades on its own terms. The reference and material specifically drive valuation more than generation alone.
