Why Sellers Choose Wrist Aficionado for Their Richard Mille Chronograph
Selling a Richard Mille chronograph is rarely a casual transaction. The catalog spans flyback, split-seconds, GMT flyback, and split-seconds tourbillon variants, individual references command very different demand, and condition carries unusual weight on watches built around exposed, pusher-actuated complications. Sellers tend to come our way for a few specific reasons:
- Buyer Reach Where RM Chronographs Actually Trade: Active clients across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the regions where Richard Mille chronographs are most pursued, give your watch immediate, qualified visibility.
- Reference-Level Knowledge Across the Chronograph Program: Our team works with the full RM chronograph catalog, from the early RM 004 and Felipe Massa RM 011 production through the RM 11-01 Mancini, RM 11-02 GMT flyback, RM 11-03 in every material variant, RM 11-05 GMT, RM 39-01 Aviation, RM 032 Les Voiles de St Barth, and the in-house RM 65-01 and RM 72-01.
- Movement-Aware Authentication: Chronograph caliber inspection requires a different level of expertise than time-only watches. Our specialists understand how RM flyback and split-seconds movements should behave, how pusher action should feel, and how reset and zero functions should reset on an authentic, properly maintained piece.
- Material-Aware Inspection: Carbon TPT, Quartz TPT, ceramic, titanium, rose gold, white gold, and Cermet each behave differently with wear, and each has its own authentic visual signature. We know what's correct and what's been altered.
- Fully Insured Logistics: Every transaction is protected by fully insured shipping, secure handling, and complete documentation. Non-negotiable for pieces of this caliber.
- Honest, Direct Communication: No surprise deductions, no fine print buried in the offer, no pressure tactics. Just clear, straightforward conversation throughout.
- Multiple Paths to Sell: Choose between an outright purchase or consignment through our global network, whichever better fits the result you want.
- Hands-On Inspection by RM Specialists: Each chronograph is personally evaluated, with attention to case condition, movement and pusher integrity, strap and clasp function, edition-specific markings, edition numbering, and matching documentation.

About Richard Mille Chronograph Watches
Richard Mille's chronograph program is one of the longest-running and most varied in the brand's catalog. It began in the early years of the maison with the RM 004 Split-Seconds Chronograph, a manual-wind rattrapante that signaled how ambitious RM's chronograph ambitions would be. The breakthrough came in 2007 with the RM 011 Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph, developed in partnership with the Brazilian Formula 1 driver. The RM 011 ran for over a decade across dozens of editions, materials, and athlete or brand variants, and remains one of the most recognizable luxury chronographs ever produced.
The program evolved through the RM 11-01 Roberto Mancini, the RM 11-02 GMT Flyback, and the RM 11-03 Automatic Flyback Chronograph, which became the brand's most widely produced chronograph reference, available in titanium, ceramic, white gold, rose gold, carbon, and limited-edition athlete or partnership configurations. The RM 11-05 added a GMT complication in a Cermet case. Specialty chronographs include the RM 032 Diver Chronograph developed for Les Voiles de Saint Barth and the RM 39-01 Aviation Chronograph designed around airline-style flight-deck logic.
The most recent chapter in the program is built around RM's in-house chronograph calibers. The RM 65-01 launched in 2020 with caliber CRMC1, the brand's first in-house high-frequency automatic split-seconds chronograph, beating at 5Hz. The RM 72-01 followed shortly after with caliber CRMC2, the maison's first in-house lifestyle flyback chronograph and a design that moved the running seconds, hours, and minutes onto an unusual three-counter layout. Together these two references mark RM's transition from working with outside chronograph movements to engineering its own.
Two qualities make the RM chronograph program distinctive on the secondary market. First, individual references trade very differently from one another, with athlete editions, brand-partnership editions, and discontinued runs each commanding their own collector base. Second, condition carries outsized weight on a chronograph, where pusher function, reset behavior, and case finishing all factor heavily into valuation. The result is a category where the buyer you put your watch in front of matters enormously.
