Sell Your Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Watch

The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is one of the most important complicated references in Audemars Piguet's modern catalog, and the platform on which the maison has set several of its most significant horological milestones over the past four decades. From the original 25654ST that established the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar as a category in 1984, to the RD#2 Ultra-Thin 26586 with the world's thinnest perpetual calendar movement, to the ceramic 26579 generation and the recent 26674 and 26684 references in steel, ceramic, sand gold, and rose gold, this is one of the most actively pursued complicated Royal Oaks on the secondary market. Selling one is a different conversation than selling a more conventional Royal Oak, and Wrist Aficionado is built for exactly that nuance. We're one of the most active dealers in the AP secondary market, with a buyer list that actively pursues Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar references in particular. Send us a few details and clear photos and our specialists handle the rest. Whether you own a current 26574, an RD#2 26586, a ceramic 26579 or 26585, a limited edition such as the John Mayer 26574BC or the Travis Scott Cactus Jack 26585CM, or a vintage 25654 or 25820, your watch ends up in the right hands.

Why Sellers Choose Wrist Aficionado for Their Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Selling a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is rarely a casual transaction. The complication adds material weight to valuation, individual references and editions trade very differently, and condition factors specific to perpetual calendars, including calendar mechanism function, service history, and case finishing on openworked variants, all carry outsized weight. Sellers tend to come our way for a few specific reasons:

  • Buyer Reach Where the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Actually Trades: Active clients across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the regions where Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar demand runs deepest, give your watch immediate, qualified visibility.
  • Reference-Level Knowledge Across the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Catalog: Our team works with the full Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar lineup, from the vintage 25654 and 25820 generations through the current 26574 in steel, rose gold, white gold, and titanium, the ceramic 26579 family, the openworked 26585 series, the RD#2 26586 ultra-thin generation, the new 26674 series in steel, sand gold, and blue ceramic, and the 38mm 26684 references.
  • Movement-Aware Authentication: AP perpetual calendar calibers including the 5134, 5135, 5133, and the most recent in-house movements each carry distinct authentic signatures. Our specialists understand what an original AP perpetual calendar movement looks like, how the calendar correction system should behave, and what service history affects valuation.
  • Calendar-Function Inspection: A perpetual calendar's value depends in part on its mechanism running cleanly. Our team verifies day, date, month, leap year, week indication on applicable references, and moon phase function as part of every evaluation.
  • Fully Insured Logistics: Every transaction is protected by fully insured shipping, secure handling, and complete documentation. Non-negotiable for pieces of this caliber.
  • Honest, Direct Communication: No surprise deductions, no fine print buried in the offer, no pressure tactics. Just clear, straightforward conversation throughout.
  • Multiple Paths to Sell: Choose between an outright purchase or consignment through our global network, whichever better fits the result you want.
  • Hands-On Inspection by AP Specialists: Each Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is personally evaluated by our team, with attention to case integrity, dial originality, bracelet condition, movement signatures, calendar mechanism function, warranty card and matching paperwork, edition numbering on limited variants, and any service or extract documentation.

About the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Audemars Piguet has held a leading position in perpetual calendar wristwatches for more than four decades. The maison introduced the first self-winding perpetual calendar wristwatch in 1978 with the caliber 2120/2800, a milestone that established AP as a serious force in the complication. Six years later, in 1984, the perpetual calendar was integrated into the Royal Oak case with the reference 25654ST, creating the first Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar and beginning a lineage that has continued without interruption to the present day.

The vintage references including the 25594, 25654, and 25820 carried the program through the 1980s and 1990s in steel, yellow gold, and various two-tone configurations. The 26574, introduced in 2015 as the modern flagship, became the defining contemporary Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar and remains in production today across steel, rose gold, white gold, and titanium configurations. The John Mayer 26574BC, released in 2023 in white gold with a midnight blue dial, became one of the most discussed celebrity-collaboration releases the maison has produced.

The ceramic generation arrived with the 26579CB in white ceramic in 2019, followed by the 26579CS in blue ceramic and the openworked 26585CE and 26585CM ceramic variants. The Travis Scott Cactus Jack 26585CM, released in collaboration with the artist and producer, drew particular attention to the ceramic openworked platform. The 26585XT 150th Anniversary edition in titanium, released in 2025 with a sapphire middle case construction, marked the anniversary year for the maison.

The RD#2 program, released as the 26586 in 2018, set a new benchmark for AP. The caliber 5133 measures 2.89mm in thickness, making it the world's thinnest perpetual calendar movement at the time of release. The reference is available in yellow gold, white gold, titanium, and titanium-platinum two-tone configurations.

For 2025 and 2026, AP introduced a new generation of Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar references including the 26674ST in stainless steel, the 26674SG in the new Sand Gold alloy, the 26674CD in blue ceramic, the 38mm 26684 in steel and rose gold, and the openworked 26685XT in BMG Titanium. The program continues to evolve at a pace that few other complicated AP collections match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you buy vintage Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar references like the 25654 and 25820 in steel, gold, and two-tone configurations?

Yes. Vintage Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar references including the 25654BA in yellow gold, the 25654ST in steel, the 25820ST in steel, and the 25820SP in steel and platinum two-tone are increasingly sought by collectors looking beyond current production. The vintage AP perpetual calendar market has matured significantly in recent years as buyers recognize the historical importance of the 1984-onward Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar program. Original documentation, dial condition, and case integrity are particularly significant on these earlier references. If you own one, our specialists would welcome the opportunity to provide a tailored valuation.
